WeHo Breakfast Co. donates $10,000 to Project Angel Food
West Hollywood Breakfast Company and its founder Johan Engman donated $10,000 from the restaurant’s opening weekend in October to Project Angel Food, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that “nourishes the health and spirit of vulnerable people facing critical and life-threatening illness, by preparing and delivering medically tailored meals with love, care and dignity.”
The newest Los Angeles concept from San Diego’s Rise and Shine Hospitality Group opened its doors at 7141 Santa Monica Blvd. with a two-day soft opening on Oct. 25 and 26. One hundred percent of all food and beverage sales (including alcohol) from the two days totaled $8,678. Engman rounded up the donation to $10,000, and the check was presented to Project Angel Food CEO Richard Ayoub on Nov. 13.
“Community is at the heart of any restaurant,” Engman said. “Helping put food on the table for those in need in our community is important to us, and a partnership with Project Angel Food is the perfect conduit for this effort. We thank all our neighbors and other guests who came out to enjoy a meal and help contribute to the cause. West Hollywood Breakfast Company will always be an active participant in the community, not just in West Hollywood, but in all of Los Angeles.”
Leading up to opening weekend, Engman and General Manager Rocky Martinez also hosted nine members of L.A. County Fire Department Station 8 from West Hollywood.
West Hollywood Breakfast Company is open seven days a week from 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
