A male suspect was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol on Dec. 3 after he struck a parked vehicle on Fountain Avenue and fled the scene on foot.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of Fountain and Martel avenues. The man was driving west on Fountain Avenue when he struck a parked car, causing his vehicle to flip onto its side, said Sgt. Omar Luevano, with the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station. The suspect got out and fled on foot, but deputies apprehended him a short time later, Luevano added.
Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Saadullah Sheikh said firefighters were dispatched to the scene but the suspect did not require hospitalization. The driver was booked for felony DUI and hit-and-run. His name was not released pending formal charges being filed.
