The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County in Exposition Park is partnering with arts nonprofit LA Commons to present the museum’s first Cultural Treasures Market on Saturday, Dec. 6.
The latest entry in NHM’s Partners in Commons series brings a celebration of the rich cultural traditions, creativity and resilience of the artisans, vendors and small businesses of South Los Angeles and Altadena to NHM Commons. Visitors to the Cultural Treasures Market will discover unique holiday gifts from local artists and vendors, listen to live music on NHM’s community plaza, enjoy delicious bites from neighborhood food vendors and participate in a fun all-ages art activity. The market features a joyful gathering to honor the creative spirit and strength of South L.A. and Altadena. It is the museum’s final Partners in Commons event in 2025, and the culmination of LA Commons’ year-long 25th anniversary celebration.
The marketplace’s goods and gifts vendors include Sika’s/Queen Midas Gold, Mother Sun Records, How Bazaar, Zakruu, Nappily Naturals, Hya, Queen Aminah’s, The Plant Chica, Soul Food Candle Co., La Libreria and Reparations Club. South L.A. Cafe, All Chill Ice Cream, Crenshaw Juice Co, El Rincon Hondureno, Dulanville and Fuegos LA will offer food and beverages.
The Cultural Treasures Market takes place in NHM Commons, which is free and open to the public. A separate general admission ticket is required for access to the museum’s main galleries and exhibitions. Limited paid parking will be available in the NHM Car Park on Bill Robertson Lane.
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is located at 900 Exposition Blvd. For information, visit nhm.org/calendar /cultural-treasures-market-nhm.
