December at the Melrose Trading Post is extra festive this year with Merry Melrose, a month-long celebration of local makers, family-friendly activities, community giving and one-of-a-kind holiday shopping.
Every Sunday, guests can browse 260-plus artisan and vintage vendors, enjoy live performances and take advantage of special giveaways and admission offers. All proceeds support arts education at Fairfax High School through the Greenway Arts Alliance.
Every Sunday in December, IATSE, SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity members with valid union ID receive free admission. The Melrose Trading Post offers artist-made photo ops on the Flower Wall and Mega Mirror Wall, pop-up performances from the Grand Arts Jazz Carolers and Little Women Ballet and poets from the L.A. Poet Society writing custom holiday poems.
On Sunday, Dec. 7, the Melrose Trading Post is holding the Prosperity Market Pop Up, which features a 48-foot mobile farmers market with Black farmers, chefs and creators parked at the Melrose Trading Post entrance. Those who make a purchase receive free MTP admission. Donate to Prosperity Bucks (supporting families in need) and receive two free passes. The Dec. 7 event also includes the Mágico Toy Drive as well as the Catitude Holiday Magnet Workshop, the How to Grow a Tree Healing Art Workshop with kid MANDU and Circular Fashion L.A. Re-Dye to Re-Love Workshop.
The Mágico Toy Drive is also being held on Dec. 14. Receive free admission with a donation of a new, unwrapped toy. Free photographs are available with Rock ’n’ Roll Santa from noon-3 p.m. The Circular Fashion L.A. Re-Dye to Re-Love Workshop and the Felt Letter Ornament Workshop by Tori Drew It will be held.

The Melrose Trading Post directly funds arts education and leadership programs for Fairfax High School students through the Greenway Arts Alliance.
