Re “Beverly Hills commission denies Burton Way project,” Oct. 23 issue

It seems to me that we’re missing a larger point in this and other builder’s remedy projects.

Your reporter correctly points out that the city of Beverly Hills was non-compliant with California housing law for three years, between 2021 and 2024. Residents should focus their ire on the members of the planning commission and the members of the City Council during that three-year period. Their negligence is the root cause of the problem.

I ask, are any of these officials from that time frame still in office? If so, why haven’t the voters thrown them out for this clear malfeasance?
